India’s Largest Run For a Cause

Run4Niine was a large scale event to get men and women to come out and talk about menstrual hygiene. The aim was to raise awareness about menstrual health as well as making it an acceptable topic to discuss openly.

More than 500 cities participated, leading to significant media interest and buzz across the country. A conversation about menstruation was initiated several times on 8th march due to the run.

The Challenge

Run4Niine expanded the nationwide #18to82 campaign initiated by  Niine Sanitary Napkins, to bridge the gap between the 18% menstruating females in India who use sanitary napkins, and the 82% predominantly engaging in unhygienic and unsafe alternatives such as rags, dung, hay or even ash. Run4Niine tackled the age-old taboos associated with menstruation in India by opening up a conversation on a large scale and trending on social media.
